About Bath Eco Heat
Hi, I'm Luke
I’m Luke — Bath Eco Heat is my company, and I’m the engineer who turns up at your door. I’ve been in the trade for over ten years, the last seven running this business, and I’m Gas Safe registered under number 622049, which you can check on the register before you let me in. I survey the property, I quote the work and I do the work, so one person stays accountable from your first phone call to the last radiator. Boilers, heating systems, servicing and repairs across Bath and the villages around it — always at a fixed price agreed before I start, not a number that moves once the floor’s up.

Why I Started Bath Eco Heat
Heating suited me because you can’t bluff it. Every house is different — a Georgian townhouse in the centre behaves nothing like a sixties semi in Odd Down — and a system either runs safely and reliably for years, or it doesn’t. Ten years in, I’ve been back to enough of other people’s installs to know exactly which corners get cut: undersized pipework, no proper system flush, a boiler shoehorned somewhere it can never be serviced. And I’ve seen what that costs the homeowner two winters later. That’s the standard I wanted to work to.
I started out as Chalkys Plumbing & Heating back in 2019 — no fancy branding, just me, my van, and word of mouth. The work came from doing a good job and people telling their neighbours. That’s still how most of my work comes in today.
I’d seen how a lot of heating jobs get handled, and it frustrated me. Prices that change halfway through. Engineers who don’t turn up when they say they will. Big firms sending whoever’s free — a different face every visit, none of them accountable for the last one. I knew heating homes in Bath could be done better than that, so I went and did it myself.
In 2024 I rebranded to Bath Eco Heat. The name changed to reflect where the trade’s going — modern, efficient heating, heat pumps, and helping Bath homeowners cut their bills — but nothing else did. Same engineer, same standards, same promise: I stand behind every job that leaves with my name on it.
My aim isn’t to become the biggest heating company in Bath. It’s to become the company local homeowners trust first — whenever they need heating advice, a boiler installation or a repair.

Why We Do Things Differently
Plenty of firms can fit a boiler. Here’s what actually sets me apart.
Fixed pricing, agreed up front
You get a clear, fixed quote before I lift a spanner. The price we agree is the price you pay — no “unexpected extras” on the final bill, no pressure to add things you don’t need.
No subcontractors
Jobs don’t get farmed out to whoever’s cheapest that week. You deal directly with me, so the person in your home is the person accountable for the work.
The same person, start to finish
The person who surveys your home is the person who quotes it and does the work. Nothing gets lost between visits, because there’s only one person who owns the job: me.
I know Bath's houses
From Georgian terraces in the centre to the newer estates on the edges, Bath’s housing throws up every kind of heating setup — old pipework, awkward flue runs, listed-building rules. I work on these homes every week.
What We Do
I cover all the heating a Bath home needs: boiler installations, servicing, repairs, full heating system design, and heat pumps. Every job is done properly, with a focus on doing it once and doing it right — not a quick patch that fails next winter.
Not sure which service you need? Just call and describe what’s happening. I’ll tell you straight.

★★★★★
We had our ancient boiler and heating system replaced in an old Georgian house with the main system located in the cellar. Not the easiest update by any means! Of the three companies that tendered for the job, Luke’s proposal was by far the most attractive. He’s professional, enthusiastic and a very good problem solver. We now have a state-of-the-art heating system, far more efficient and user friendly. I’d highly recommend this firm.

Luke came to our rescue for a replacement boiler and gas safety certification for some rental properties. His communication and project planning is great and the timescales he worked to were very reasonable. Overall very impressive and is definitely our go-to engineer for any future repairs or servicing we may need.

Booked in to get our boiler serviced. I got clear and good communication from Luke on what service I was getting and between what time. On the day I received a text to let me know they were on the way. Friendly and efficient. We received our certificate and a breakdown of what was checked within a couple of hours.

Common Questions
How long has Bath Eco Heat been running?
